Emergency Quota Act of 1921
The Emergency Quota Act of 1921 was written by the 57th congress and passed on May 19, 1921. This was a law addressed to American citizens. The main objective of the law was to lower immigration. "AN ACT To limit the immigration of aliens into the United States." The law passed with a 78-1 vote in the senate. This lowered immigration right up into the 1960's, the law shaped immigration in the US for years to come.
